Obituary of Jennie Dieter

Jennie Scirati Dieter passed away July 20, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born December 17, 1917 in Lackawanna she was the daughter of Sisto and Rose (nee Murrie) Scirati. Jennie worked for three years at the Textile Mill, Lockport and retired from Mount View Health Care Facility on May 1, 1984 after 21 years as the superintendent of the laundry. She was an active member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church and Jennie enjoyed reading, baking and knitting. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Herbert E. Dieter in 1989 and daughter Kathleen Gentile in 2003. Jennie is survived by her daughter Virginia Smith of Lockport; grandmother of James Smith of Austin, TX, Peter (Kimberly) Gentile of Manchester, CT and Andrew (Roberta) Gentile of Austin, TX; great grandmother of Julianna, Jocelyn, Joseph, Drew and Carson Gentile; sister of Rocci (Frances) Scirati of Lockport; several nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call Friday 3-7 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
