Obituary of Julie Briggs

Julie A. Briggs passed away July 17, 2010 under the care of Niagara Hospice, surrounded by her loving family and cherished pets. Born June 2, 1958 in Lockport she is the daughter of Margaret (nee Podeszek) Bascom of Lockport and the late Irving "Red" Bascom. Julie was an accountant for 30 years and was a social member of the South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her mother Julie is survived by her husband of 34 years John Briggs of Lockport. She is the mother of Edward (Jackie) Briggs of Lockport; sister of Sheldon Bascom and Michael (Nadine) Bascom both of Lockport; beloved aunt to Jennifer, Sarah and Robert Bascom. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
