Obituary of Norman Wurl

Norman C. Wurl passed away July 14, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born January 4, 1929 in Medina he was the son of Christian John Phillip and Sophia (nee Grobengiser) Wurl. Norman served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1950. He worked at Harrison Radiator for 43 years where he was a supervisor and a tool and die maker. Norman was deeply religious and was a very active member of First English Lutheran Church, Lockport. He was mechanical and was very family oriented. Norman is survived by his wife Barbara E. (Class) Wurl of Lockport; father of Linda (Darrell) Oswald of Orlinda, TN, Mark C. (Patricia) Wurl of Brentwood, TN, Douglas N. (Maripat Abbott) Wurl of Lake Barrington, IL and Beth (Timothy) Bicker of Newfane; grandfather of James Oswald, Kevin Oswald, Alexis Wurl and Rachel Wurl; great grandfather of Stephanie, Ashley, Kaylee Oswald and Tyler Green; brother of the late Elwin (late Vera) Wurl, Donald (Janet) Wurl and Virginia (late Earl) Manning; several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 AM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.
