I am very sorry to learn of Jerry's passing. I always felt fortunate to have a cousin who was not only a role model, but a mentor. Although I ultimately did not end up in law enforcement, Jerry provided me with great guidance and opportunities through the Explorer Post he ran for LPD. I know he spent countless hours away from his family teaching, counseling, and helping kids to prepare for careers in law enforcement.
I also appreciate how helpful he was to my mother in her later years providing rides, checking on her, and the like. He and Marion were a great help and source of care and company for mom.
I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from Jerry and share a very important part of my youth with the Landrigans. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Terry

Jerry and I were the Explorer leaders of our respective Explorer posts-his from Lockport Police (10-4) and mine for the Niagara County Sheriff's Department (911) in the infancy of the programs and we both served on the Lewiston Trail Council Boy Scouts of America to help guide the program. We also had the pleasure of taking our Explorers to the very first National Explorer gathering in Michigan back in 1979 and we had our young people compete against the best from across the Country. We also had the chance to meet with and gather information from the leaders of many of the other Explorer Posts nationwide and were able to network many of these programs back to our local youth to expand and improve our programs on the local level. It was always a pleasure to work with Jerry over the years we were involved in the Lewiston Trail Council together and I will treasure those memories forever, and I know many of the young people he influenced over those years will never forget those life lessons learned. Rest in Peace old friend.
