Obituary of Shirley Rae Yaremo

Shirley Rae Yaremo passed away Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lockport on May 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Keller Poyfair. Shirley retired from the Trott Center in Niagara Falls as an Alcohol Counselor. She was a master gardener that volunteered at maintaining the Veterans Park on East Avenue and the Children's Park on Lincoln Avenue, she also was a Foster Grandmother for the Head Start Program and was member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed genealogy. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Steve Yaremo and her son, Stephen Yaremo. Shirley is survived by her grandchildren Christopher Yaremo, Stephen Yaremo and Annaliese Bosso; and great grandmother Charlotte Yaremo. She is also survived by her siblings, Beverly (Paul) Linderman, Ronald (Maggie) Poyfair and Rose Esposito; mother in-law to Melissa Eaton. She is also survived several loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday July 10th from 1-5 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Monday July 11th at 11 AM. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to the VFW, 112 Caledonia St, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
