Nancy L. Long passed away July 1, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Olean on September 28, 1937 she was the daughter of Russell and Margaret (Renahan) Slavin. She went to work at Garlock's Fireside Inn in 1963 working her way up to manager and purchased the restaurant from Mr. Garlock in 1990, she retired in 2006. Nancy was affectionately known as, "The Hostess with the Mostess" by her customer's. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren, reading, boating and fishing. Nancy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert G. Long of Lockport; mother of Patrick (Angela) Long, Michael (Karen) Long both of Lockport and Ann (Darrell) Laseter of Boca Raton, FL; grandmother of Jennifer Long, Allison (Brian) Hopkins, Sean (Kristen) Shea, Christopher, Alex, Ashley Laseter, and Kacee Rian Long; great grandmother of Madison, Olivia Long and Hayden, Davin Shea; sister of Michael (Norma) Slavin of Altoona, PA, William (late Nancy) Slavin of Grove City, OH and late Patty Natale; also several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 6th from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 7th at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. Donations to DeSales Catholic School would be appreciated by the family.
