Obituary of Beverly Sanders

Beverly Frances Sanders passed away Friday March 25, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness. Born in Baltimore, MD on October 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Young McCauley. Beverly is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert G. Sanders; mother of Kim (Paul) Murphy, Wendy (Bradley) Lederhaus, Robert (Lisa) Sanders and Greg (Gosia) Sanders; grandmother of Brenden, Eliza and Weston Lederhaus; Natalie, Tara and Ella Murphy; and Haley and Zachary Sanders. Beverly was the sister of Neil (late Carole) McCauley, Linda (Gary) Firkins and Sharon (Steven) Barger; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Beverly was an accomplished registered nurse who worked for more than three decades, including practicing in the ICU, ER and, lastly, as a surgical nurse for Dr. James Alrutz. She was a devoted daughter and sister, adored wife, selfless mother and beloved grandmother. She touched everyone she met with her compassion, generosity and gentle spirit. Beverly and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the world, yet her happiest times were spent at home with her loving family. There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lancaster, NY. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
