Obituary of Charles Franklin Shirbach

Charles F. Shirbach passed away February 12, 2016 in Erie County Medical Center. Born in North Tonawanda on May 4, 1930 he was the son of Thomas and Helen Shirbach. Charles served in the US Marine Corp from 1953 to 1955 being awarded the Defense Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. James retired from Spaulding Fiber in Tonawanda. In his younger years he practiced Judo, and enjoyed building RC planes and playing cards.
Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary (Lewandowski) Shirbach; father of James (late Judith) Huffman; grandfather of Jennifer Huffman, Melissa Schulze, Jessica (Patrick) Gorton, and Christine Huffman; great grandfather of Kayla Schultze, Ella Gorton, and Jack Gorton; brother of James Shirbach, Augusta Curtis, Catherine Young, Patricia Speciale, and Elizabeth Ross; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, Feb. 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 16th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
