I am so sorry the world has lost such a great guy, Bill. My condolences go out to all the family, especially, you Margaret, and Andy. I was late in reading the paper and wish I had been to the wake to give you a hug. Andy, you were such support to me when we lost Tim, I'll never forget. Take care, Pat Dewey

Bill was a good friend
We played football together. We played baseball against each other.
He was my assistant manager in the Midget League.During one game at Outwater Park he saved the life of a player who had swallowed his tongue after a collision in a play at the plate.
A good guy who will be missed by all who knew him.
My condolences to the family.

What a guy!! Any thought of Bill, Peggy and ALL of the Yeager kids and the beloved grandchildren brings instantaneous smiles. We have countless memories of our boys growing up together. Our kids loved being at the Yeager house because of the crowd of characters coming in & out, always creating "happening" times! Yet we were all astonished by Bill's prolific reading - and how he managed to focus on a book in the "active" presence of his kids and their friends, the dog and the daily issues that always arise when so many humans are in close contact.
And there was BILL in the midst of what some might call a fascinating combination of chaos with deep care for each other. His droll and dry sense of humor had a perpetual base of common sense. He would remind us of his German heritage while surrounded by a sea of a big Irish family. We never doubted his ability to keep afloat.
Wow, did he love his gorgeous Peggy! Such a proud father delighted by his kids and then the grandchildren and their accomplishments from learning to walk to joining the family ranks of athletes! Bill Yeager was not saintly for he would have, perhaps, been boring, and that was just impossible! Everyone knows how much he will be missed; gone when still so young. I hope he knows how many lives he touched in his unique, beguiling way. And we certainly hope that Peggy, Kevin, Andy, Danny and Megan know how much we love you and are deeply saddened by Bill’s passing. We’re so sorry that we cannot be there in person to be part of all that will be done to honor this marvelous man.
All our love, KC & Jerry
