Obituary of Maria S. Bluestein

Maria Sophie Skakuj Bluestein entered into rest on November 8th, 2015 in the loving care of Buffalo Hospice. She was born January 5th, 1958 in Lockport,NY. A 1976 graduate of Desales Catholic High School, Maria loved knitting, crocheting, spending time with her family and her dog Angel. She married Louis Bluestein on June 18th, 2010 and they resided in Buffalo, NY until her death. Maria worked at St Claire's Nursing home for many years and most recently at Meritain Health. "Rah Rah" will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband Louis, Maria is survived by her loving parents Sofie and Jozef Skakuj; Her brothers Joseph (Linda) and John (Elizabeth) Skakuj and her sister Anna (David) Nemi. She is also survived by her nieces Christy (Andrew) Sousa; Jillian (Nicholas) Enderton; and Allison (Nate) Bolt); her nephews Robert (Danielle) Nemi, and Jack Skakuj; her great niece Sophie Enderton and great nephews David and Daniel Nemi.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, November 10th from 4pm-8pm at Prudden and Kandt funeral home, 242 Genesee St, Lockport, NY. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday November 11th at 11am, also at Prudden and Kandt. In lieu of flowers, donations to Roswell Park Cancer Institute would be appreciated.
