Obituary of Jeanette Rhinehart

Jeanette Carlton Rhinehart passed away May 25, 2010 at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. The daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Carlton, she was born on September 7, 1915. She graduated from Lockport High School and entering the business world working at Western Block. Jeanette married Nelson "Jack" Rhinehart on April 11, 1939, at the Warrens Corners Church, where it was the first formal wedding for the church. Jeanette later started a new career with her husband as the farmer's wife, growing vegetables. She established the family vegetable stand on the corner of Stone and Johnson Roads, due to her efforts a second stand was established on Ridge Road. The couple worked side by side during they're marriage of 54 years before he passed away in 1994.
She was a member of Warrens Corners United Methodist Church where at the time of her death she was the longest living member of the church. Jeanette taught Sunday school for several years and served as chairperson on many committees for the church. Jeannette enjoyed going on cruises with her husband, knitting, reading, and all church activities. Spending time and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren, brought her, her greatest satisfaction.
Jeanette is survived by her children Jayne (George) Knieser of McElhalton, PA, Linda (Philip) Baughman and Richard Rhinehart both of Lockport; grandmother of Todd Rhinehart, Amy Mott, Jack Rhinhart, Libby Webster, Danny Baughman, Deanne Brassard, Debra Cady, Karin Cline, Jeffrey Knieser, Douglas Knieser and Steven Kneiser; great grandmother of twelve; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jeannette was predeceased by her six brothers Donald, William, Frank, Wallace, David and Emerson.
Relatives and friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in Warrens Corners United Methodist Church. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
