Obituary of William J. Lavery

William J. Lavery passed away on Friday September 25, 2015, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. Born in North Tonawanda on July 21, 1931, he was the son of the late James and Mildred Miller Lavery. William retired after 35 years, from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant, working as an electrician, at the Niagara Falls Air Base, and worked as an private electrician out of his house. He also served in the US Marine Corp for 10 years. William was a member of the Eagles Club, the Lions Club and the American Legion in Ransomville. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, golfing, sailing, playing his harmonica and was a avid bird lover. William is predecease by his wife, Rita (LeBreton) Lavery, who passed away June 24, 2011.
William was the father of Patricia DeLine of Appleton, Valerie Lavery of Wilson and Amy (David) Lavery-Bell of Wilson; grandfather of Joshua DeLine, Alexis (Joey) Kendall, Mason Call and Vayda Kiekbush and step grandfather of Benjamin and Sarah Bell. He was the brother of Kenneth (Dolly) Lavery, Eilleen (Don) Burke, and the late Ronald Lavery and Helen Miller. William is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or Boys Town USA, would appreciated by the family.
