Elise was such a bright light in a dark world...
I followed her story in the news and since then have come to know that my sweet friend Mindy was a sister of the heart with this dear young lady, which made her story more real to me.... more heartbreaking.
May her perpetual light still shine from the Heavens, may the memories of her become your treasures and may the angels sing her home.
My sincerest Condolences,
Sheila Strassburg

Elise has been constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We had hoped and prayed and begged God (like everyone) that this would have had a different ending. But we know God had to call her home for His purpose. We won't understand why while we are on this earth but trust completely in His plan. Now our prayers are for healing for you her loved ones and to feel Gods arms around you.

Melinda, James, Bryan, Magda, Erin, Tom, Declan and Evan:
We are sad Elise is gone, hopeful she is at peace, thankful she was in our lives for nearly a quarter century. Her wild side, crazy humor and indefatigable lust for life will live on in our hearts and memories. As we have been all along, we will keep you all in prayer during the days ahead of sudden emptiness, deep grief and times of sharing memories.
I will always remember Elise's voice ringing out through the woods at Shell Lake in the late morning and into the dark of night. I don't think I'll be able to open a bottle of Leinie's without thinking of Elise and her huge smile; she smiles at us as we go out and come in from her photo in the entryway.
We are sorry we can't make it to the memorial tomorrow. Liza and I are thinking of doing a west coast memorial.
Much love,
Amy & Oscar

My condolences and prayers go out to Elise's family and friends at this time. I first met Elise when I moved to Lockport and began swimming with her. She was sweet, caring, always gave you a good laugh, and a very energetic person. She always knew what to say to her teammates and helped them to push themselves. Goal-driven, Elise always worked her hardest and pushed herself to do her best. You will be deeply missed, Elise.

I am so sorry. I am sorry for such a short story but what she did have she lived to max. Most of all I am hurting for her family. We cant feel sorry for Elise because she is living her dream now in heaven. Looking down on her family with love. God needed another angel and got a good one.

We've lost so much. Elise had a way of weaving into people's lives and leaving a piece of herself while firmly latching onto the hearts of so many people. She was someone who naturally connected with everyone she met. Her personality was twice the size of a 'regular' person. Her smile and laugh were contagious. Yes...we've lost so much. Yet, she'd never want us to focus on the void she left. She'd hate it if she knew we were crying...but it's her fault. She made it so easy to love her and so hard to lose her. With an ache in my heart and eyes sore from the tears I've shed, I still manage to smile when I see another picture of her. I think about the joy she exuded and her fierce determination to fully live every single moment. She faced death and looked it right in the eye and said, "I'm still going to find the good in this life." I'm humbled and somehow a little comforted when I remember the attitude she maintained. She lived her life very well and inspired so many others to do the same. I'm so thankful our paths crossed and I am honored to have been a small part of Elise's life.
