To the Spearin family and friends,
I am sorry I am late expressing my condolences. My name is Kai and I work @ Harris on 2nd shift and at one point had to opportunity to work with Ben for about 2 months.
Ben was an individual who was hard working but always calm. He is super smart and always cherished by everyone around him. Everyone on the 2nd shift working on the "ULPA" project loved Ben and he was always there as if it was his 2nd home.
often we would get order takeout and eat together and talk and laugh like family and even after 2nd shift was dissolved, all of us often talk about how we miss working with him and wished he was part of whatever new project we were tasked with.
Ben will be missed very much and I hope his family and friends will find some comfort in knowing that he had touched everyone he had worked with.
God Bless,
Kai Hsu

I was blessed with the opportunity to meet Ben and work with him shortly after he joined Harris/RF Communications. Ben was a highly talented and very hard working Engineer. He was instrumental in getting new products smoothly transitioned into Manufacturing. Whenever there was a significant deadline, you would often find Ben working 24 hours or more consecutively. He had what seemed like endless energy. I liked joking with Ben and seeing his contagious, genuine smile. Ben was a true gentleman. He never had an unkind word for anyone. Everyone who met Ben liked him. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He will be forever missed. I will pray for Ben and for his family during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Ben's family in this time of great loss.
Ben & I worked at together and were hired by Harris around the same time.
Although quiet, Ben had a quick smile and was friendly right from the start.
My favorite memory of Ben is his 'yearly' hair cut :-)
There was 'wild n wooly Ben' towards early spring & 'shaved head' Ben in late spring.
Oh, and that goatee he had for awhile is quite memorable too ;-D
In addition to being an extremely gifted engineer, Ben was a very considerate and pleasant young man. He often helped me out by fixing the electronic ear muffs I use for my pyro technician job. And, on several occasions fixed my wireless mouse :-) He was also a very good code writer & wrote some very helpful code for applications we use here at Harris.
I will miss Ben and, he will be greatly missed here at Harris, that's for sure.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ben's passing. I worked with him at Harris; he taught me how to use Auto Hot Key, helped me with programming, and talked with me about my favorite tv show Firefly. He will be missed. My prayers are with you and all his family at this time.
