Ronald Curchin Askew passed away Saturday May 15, 2010 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born December 19 1937 in Lockport, he was the son of the late George and Geraldine Curchin Askew. Ronald served as a Sergeant in the US Army, and also worked for Marine Midland Bank, later HSBC Bank, for 30 years as a V.P. and Loan Officer, he retired in 1997, he was also a Board Member for Waterford Estates and Hebeler Corp. Ronald enjoyed golf, photography, carpentry and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ronald is survived by his wife of 30 years Julie Ward Askew. Father of Jeff (Keri) Askew of Sacramento, Ca., Robert W. (Lynn) Bragg of Lockport and Libby (Jeff) Bertrand of Rochester. He was the grandfather of Megan (Daniel) Fetterhoff, Kelsey Bragg, Cassandra Askew, Haley Bertrand and Nathan Bertrand; great grandfather of Jayden Askew-Scaffer and Dwayne Mosley Jr. Ronald is predeceased by his sister Sally James and brother, Roger Askew. Friends may call Wednesday 3 to7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
