Mary Scinta Johnson, 91, passed away after a recent illness on Friday May 14, 2010 in Briody Health Care Facility. She was born November 28, 1918 in Lockport, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Licata. After graduation form Lockport High School, she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Louis A. Scinta whom she later married in 1941. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Lockport, the Lockport Town and Country Club and the Ladies' Auxiliary of Lockport Memorial Hospital. She also did volunteer work and wrote several
biographies of local physicians.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Rosemary (Alton Imhof ) Carmody, Joanne (Timothy) Donovan, Louise (Herbert) Munk, and William Carmody. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bert Allan (Valerie) Munk, Susan (Doug) Munk Kwaizer, Carrie (Bob) Carmody Switzer, Allison Carmody, Sean Donovan, Molly (Philip) Donovan Wong and 4 great-grandchildren, Evan and Lindsey Munk and Felicity and Nathan Kwaizer. Her surviving siblings are Stella Robison, Jessie Lathrop, Angelo Licata and Salvatore P. (Sam) Licata. She is predeceased by her husband, Louis in 1975 and her second husband, Clint Johnson in 1990. She is also predeceased by her sisters Josephine Erickson and Jennie Garlock and her brothers, Tom Licata and Joseph Licata.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church on Saturday at 10 AM. Memorials to the American Heart Association in her memory, would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.
