I have known JP since second or third grade. He was a great friend and I am sure a wonderful father and husband. This is a tragic loss and one that the world will not soon recover from. My family will continue to pray for him and his family.

Lt. John Ogiba was a mentor, friend, and hero to me while I was stationed in Japan with him. He was the consummate leader--someone that all the Marines I served with looked to in times of crisis. A guiding light in the darkness, John was respected and revered more than most men I have ever met.
It is my sincere hope that you realize how appreciated John was to all the lives he touched and influenced. Through the lessons he taught us and the life he lead, his influence continues to live on.
I hope that peace will find you all during this time of turmoil. I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
