Obituary of Esther Schaich

Esther Schaich, formerly of Newfane, passed away May 29, 2009 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born March 29, 1922 in Buffalo she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Fronic) Wagner. Esther was a member of St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Newfane Historical Society and enjoyed going to garage sales, traveling of which Esther has been to the Vatican and she also enjoyed spending wither her family. Esther was predeceased by her husband Robert Schaich in 1972.
Esther is survived by her children Mary (Dennis) Zimmerman of Lockport, James R. (Judy Kelley) Schaich of Florida, Charles "Carl" Schaich and Holly (David) Lofgren both of California; grandmother of six and great grandmother of six; sister of James (Patricia) Wagner, Raymond (Marjorie) Wagner, Mary Seaner, Mildred Priester, Daniel Wagner all of Buffalo and the late Edward Wagner, Clare Wagner, Joseph Wagner and Virginia Sauka; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 5 Saxton Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380 would be appreciated by the family.
