Obituary of William Anterline

William G. Anterline, 81, of Lockport entered into rest on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born on March 5, 1928 in Lockport, he was the son of the late Walter and Louise Burghardt Anterline. Mr. Anterline served in the United States Army, 6th Tank Battalion in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He also served as Vice Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2535. Bill was an avid hunter, camper and enjoyed relaxing by the pool in his backyard. He retired from Harrison Radiator Division in 1990 where he worked 34 years and was a committee man in building #10 for many years.
William is survived by his cherished wife Ellen May (DeFilippo) Anterline of 56 years. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Mary Ellen (Robert) DeCarlo, William G. Jr. (Cheryl), and Richard (Karon); grandfather of James (Corrine) Anterline and William G. Anterline, III; great grandfather of Arden Elizabeth Anterline; brother of Walter Anterline, the late Verna Baker and Lorraine Downey. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where prayers will be offered Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Saxton St. Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. Donations of the V. F.W. in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family.
