Obituary of Jean Kautz

Jean A. Kautz, formerly of Lockport passed away March 31,2009 in Santa Rosa, California. Born May 28th 1924 in Lockport she was the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Aldrich Kautz. Jean worked at her grandmothers restaurant, Aldrich's, from the time she was in 4th grade until she graduated from Lockport High School. She accepted a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin for her undergraduate degree and then on to Mill's College in Oakland, California for her Master's Degree. She taught for 38 years, starting her teaching career at the Buffalo Seminary and was teaching at Lowell High School in San Francisco, California where she retired from in 1983. Besides her parents Jean was predeceased by her brother Lt. William Kautz who was killed in action during W.W. II. Surviving are a nephew, William Kautz of Illinois, several cousins and dear friends. Graveside services will he held Monday April 13, 2009 at 2 PM in Cold Spring Cemetery.
