Obituary of Carl Whitehead

Carl W. Whitehead passed away suddenly March 2, 2009 in Baltimore, MD. Born November 26, 1929 in Lockport he was the son of the late Harry and Elsie (Gottshalk) Whitehead. Carl served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952 and worked in production for Harrison Radiator and also upon retirement he worked as a security guard for Modern Disposal until two days prior to his passing. He was the Past Commander of the Moose, Past National Commandant of the Navy/Marine Club, a member of the VFW and American Legion. Carl was a life member of the Redman Club, was a special deputy for the Niagara County Sheriff's Department and also was a Boy Scout leader.
Carl is survived by his wife Violet J. (Criswell) Whitehead of Lockport; father of Sharon (Terry) Maines of Lockport, Jeanette (Fred) Hale of Florida, Diane J. (Philip Sansone) Camarra of Lockport and the late Steven and Carol Whitehead; grandfather of Steven Maines, Jenine, Freddy Hale, Bobbie (Charles) Garlock, Kendra (Matthew) DiTullio, Casey (Penny) Camarra and Billie Jo Diel; also survived by several great grandchildren; brother of Annabelle Seeloff of Ransomville and the late Norman Whitehead.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM.
