Obituary of Margaret Gardner

Margaret Ellen Gardner passed away April 29, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House. Born November 28, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late Leon and Margaret (Bubrick) McGroarty. Margaret worked for Niagara County for 20 years as a payroll clerk retiring in1996. She was a former foster parent, active member of the Dale Association, RSVP Volunteer, a member of St. Mary's RC Church, Keenagers and the Eagles. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Conrad Gardner on September 15, 2004.
Margaret is survived by her children W. Michael (Lyn) McGill of Lockport, John P. (Hazel) McGill of Pavillion, NE, Mark C. (Laura) McGill of West Warwick, RI and Jody L. Panageas of Bayonne, NJ; grandmother of 7; great grandmother of four; sister of Leo (Betty) McGroarty of Virginia Beach, VA, Marilyn (Paul) McCarthy of Buffalo and Carol (Charles) Mertz of Webster, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Mary's RC Church, 5 Saxton St., Lockport. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
