Pfc. Albert Ronald Jex passed away suddenly February 9, 2009. Born August 18, 1985 in Newfane he is the son of Cathleen (William) MacFarlane of Lockport and Nelson (Cindy Farina) Jex of Lockport. Albert was a 2003 Lockport High School graduate. He was serving in the US Army, enlisting in the fall of 2006, over in Iraq where he was a 50 Cal Gunner with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop (HHT) 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas. Before enlisting Albert was a supervisor in construction doing the trim work in Arizona. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and camping in the Southern Tier. He was also a Junior Fireman with the South Lockport Fire Company, and associated with the Venture Crew at the Wrights Corner Fire Department.
Besides his parents Albert is also survived by his wife Monica Jex; brother of Nicole (Steven) James, Mackenzie MacFarlane, James MacFarlane; uncle of Ayla and Brayden James; grandson of Dorothy Barbara (the late Albert William) Houseman-Jex, Virginia (the late Wayne) Reinbolt, Mildred (the late William) MacFarlane; great grandson of Loraine (the late Nelson Leonard) Jex; nephew of Cindy Jex, Wayne (Ella), Daniel (Amy) Reinbolt, MaryLynn (Daniel) Aureli, James (Lisa) Reinbolt, Robert MacFarlane, Cindy (James) Horner, Phillip (Robin), Mitchell (Donna) MacFarlane; also survived by several great aunts and uncles and also several cousins. Good friend Matthew Farina, and Erin Hohner.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Services will be at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, Thursday at 11AM. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the local American Legion Post, Army Navy Club, or the local VFW Post.
