Obituary of Anthony Rongo

Anthony P. Rongo passed away February 5, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born December 19, 1942 in Lockport he is the son of Lucy (Provenzano) Rongo and the late Anthony J. Rongo. Anthony worked as a General Supervisor in Production Control at Delphi for 39 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church where he helped with Pre-Cana, the Cancer Companions and the Hartland Conservation Club. Anthony enjoyed going to his hunting camp in Little Genesee, archery, fly fishing, watching the Yankees and other sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 45 years Virginia (Gibson) Rongo of Lockport; father of Yvonne (John) VanDenBosch, Lisa (David) Cicciarelli and Michael (Melanie) Rongo all of Lockport; dear poppa of Christian, Noah, Leah VanDenBosch, Jordan, Hannah, Jonah, Nathan Cicciarelli, Anthony and Olivia Rongo; brother of Thomas (Rosemary) Rongo of Lockport; son-in-law of Dorothy Taylor of Lockport; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Donations to DeSales Catholic School, 6914 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Roswell Park Cancer Inst., Dr. Wong's Clinic, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263 would be appreciated by the family.
