Obituary of Samuel Seger

Samuel E. Seger, age 76 of Barker was called to his heavenly home on January 29, 2009. He was born in Grampian, PA on August 4, 1932. He was the son of the late Louella and Harvey Burton Seger.
He moved to New York where he met and married his lifelong love, the late Marilyn (Zuch) Seger in 1951. They moved to PA where he owned a gas service station for five years. Sam and his family then relocated to the town of Lockport area in where he built his own home. He worked as a mechanic at Sheridan Amherst Motors in Amherst for 25 years. Sam came to Barker and worked for Harrison Radiator in the Wind Tunnels and retired after 22 years.
He had a lifelong passion for restoring antique and classic cars for which he won many trophies. Sam was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served with the Willing Workers for many years. He also enjoyed getting together with his friends on Saturday mornings at Charlie's Garage. He loved the many family gatherings with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters and will truly be missed.
Husband of the late Marilyn (Zuch) Seger, and survived by his daughters Sandra (Tom) Gancasz, Susan (Craig) Oswald, and one son Samuel (Sandy) Seger, Jr. Beloved grandfather of Tom, Bonnie (Hank), Carrie, Laurie, Amanda, Sam, Kristen, Katie, and Kevin; and also three great grandchildren Nicolas, Hayley, and Landon. Beloved brother of Dalma (Bill) London, James (Eunice) Seger, Richard (Claudia) Seger, Jean (Clayton) Porchet, and Sharon (Robert) Fiegle.
Relatives and friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7700 Goodrich Road, Clarence, NY 14031 or Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
