Charles H. Sutton passed away January 15, 2009 in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital. Born December 10, 1923 in Lockport he is the son of the late Harold and Alice (Art) Sutton. Charles was a 1942 graduate from Lockport Senior High School and served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 with the 61st Signal Battalion. Upon returning from service he returned to the Harrison Radiator Engineering Dept. where he was a draftsman. He retired in 1985 after thirty five years. He enjoyed photography, gardening, reading and music especially big band and jazz. Charles was predeceased by his wife Mary R. (Cashion) Sutton on March 3, 1988.
Charles is survived by his children John C. Sutton, Sr. of Gasport, Mary Eick of Michigan, Charlene (Ken) Swan of Amherst, NY, Victoria (Mark) Stevens of Olcott and Judy Sutton of Lockport; grandfather of thirteen and great grandfather of fourteen; brother of the late Virginia Owens.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 1-5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, 431 Lake Street, Wilson. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 would be appreciated by the family.
