Obituary of Enoch Layer

Enoch F. Layer passed away January 4, 2009 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born May 4, 1910 in Lockport he was the son of the late Enoch and Mary (O'Hearn) Layer. Enoch attended Canisius College graduating in 1933 and he worked for 39 years for Harrison Radiator as a Sales Engineer retiring in 1975. He was an active life member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church where was involved with the training of alter boys and assisting Fr. Francis Schimscheiner. Besides his parents Enoch was also predeceased by his brothers William and Edward Layer. Enoch is survived by his two nieces Mary Lou (David) Chamberlain of Lockport and Jean (Daniel) Conley of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He is also survived by one great nephew and five great nieces. Enoch is survived by his dear friends Mary &amp; Michael Balon. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport.
