Obituary of Charles Long

Charles L. Long passed away April 25, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born June 30, 1931 in Lockport he was the son of Linford and Dorothy (Bedford) Long. Charles served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1957 where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked Harrison Radiator for 40 years where he worked in water treatment retiring in 1990. Charles was a member of the UAW 686 and the Elks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife of 31 years Shirley (Carlton) Long of Lockport; father of Michael Long of Martville, NY, John W. (Barbara) Chunco of Lockport and Ronald Chunco of Camillus, NY; grandfather of seven and great grandfather of two; brother of Betty Wait of Barker, Janice (Bob) Randell of Charlotteville, VA, Mary (Rip) Russell of Hartland, Jean (Joe) Cammarano of Leesburg, FL, the late Shirley Pacheco and Judy Penwright; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Women & Children's Hospital or Save-A-Pet or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport.

Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
