Anita McCready-Puff of Lockport, NY formerly of Olean, NY, passed away February 5, 2008 at Absolut Care of Gasport, NY, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born May 1, 1942 in Wellsville, NY, the daughter of William and Doris Halliday. She worked in food service at the University of Buffalo, North Campus until retirement. Anita enjoyed gardening and crafts but her greatest joy was her family especially her nine grandchildren and her four great grandchildren.

Anita is survived by her husband Norman Puff of Lockport; mother of Dale McCready, Richard McCready, Michael McCready all of Olean, NY and Vikki Sherry of Lockport, NY; step-mother of Patricia Puff of Amherst, NY, Kathleen (John) Cogovan, Pamela (Todd) Kaiser and Angela Puff all of Lockport; grandmother of nine and great grandmother of four. She is also survived by her step-mother June Harrison of Hinsdale, NY; sister of Evelyn Bizzaro of Auburndale, FL, Alita (Chester) Whitney of Cuba, NY and Thad Halliday of Olean, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law of May Puff; sister-in-law of Douglas (Karen) Puff of Lockport. Anita was predeceased by her husband James McCready and brother William Halliday.

There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced by Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home.
