Ruhmel passed away February 3, 2008 in Lockport Memorial Hospital.� Born January 2, 1915 in Buffalo she was the daughter of John and Frances Orlaska Morotchie, was raised in Wyndham Lawn Home.� Sophia enjoyed baking cookies and making homemade apple sauce.� She was predeceased by her husband Francis William in 1990.

Sophia is survived by her son William (Glenda) Ruhmel of Lockport.� She is also survived by her grandchildren Richard Ruhmel of Newfane and Robin (Teddy) Abramson of Philadelphia, PA; great grandmother of Jonah and Ella Sophia Abramson.� Sophia was the sister of the late Peter Mulartrick and Joseph Morotchie.� She is the aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� Memorials to Wyndham Lawn Home for Children, 6395 Old Niagara Road, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Lockport Memorial Hospital, 521 East Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
