Obituary of Neva Stakel

Neva P. Stakel passed away December 29, 2007 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility.� Born October 9, 1908 in Wyoming, NY she was the daughter of Frank G. and Martha Beulah Wilkie Parkhouse.� Neva worked for the Union Sun & Journal as an office worker for 22 years.� She was a member of the First Baptist Church and volunteered at Lockport Memorial Hospital for several years and at the Lockport Senior Citizens Center.� Neva was predeceased by her husband Gilbert F. Stakel in 1968, whom she married May 10, 1932 in Warsaw, NY.� Together they moved their family to the Lockport area in 1939.

Neva is survived by her three sons Alan G. (Susie) Stakel of Olean, NY, John D. Stakel of Cornelius, NC and Paul K. (Janis) Stakel of Upland, CA.� She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.� Neva was predeceased by her two brothers Gordon and Kenneth Parkhouse.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday 10-12 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 12 noon.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
