Obituary of Margaret Steinkuhler

Margaret Steinkuhler passed away December 20, 2007 in Lockport memorial Hospital.� Born October 25, 1918 in Lockport she was the daughter of Robert and Blanche Sweeney Garner.� Margaret graduated from Lockport High School and attended Buffalo State College.� She worked as a secretary at the Pentagon where she met her husband late Leonard Steinkuhler, originally from Nebraska, and married him in 1944.� Margaret and her husband then moved to Lockport where she worked for 33 years for the Lockport School District from 1949 to 1983 as the secretary for the superintendent.� She was predeceased by her Leonard who passed away in April of 1954.

Margaret is survived by her children Robert Steinkuhler of Key West, FL and Barbara (Robert) Valery of Lockport.� She was the grandmother of William (Susan) O'Reilly of Atlanta, GA and Michael (Beth) O'Reilly of Boston, MA.� Margaret is also survived by six great grandsons.� She was predeceased by her brother John Garner.

There will be no prior visitation.� A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12 noon in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.�
