Obituary of Richard Salerno

Richard N. Salerno, 61, of Lockport passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Born on October 12, 1948 in Niagara Falls to George and Lillian (Tew-Jones) Salerno, he was the third of nine children. Richard was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School Class of 1966. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 463 working for various local crane companies and when he retired he began his second career which allowed him to drive and see various cities and states. While doing this he worked for Mike Basil Toyota and M & T Pilot Car Service.
Richard is survived by his wife Dawn L. Dominguez-Salerno of Lockport; four children Delaney Dominguez-Salerno of Lockport, Richard (Jennifer) Salerno Jr. of Alexandria, VA, Luke (Michele) Salerno of South Wales, NY and Sarah Salerno of Astoria, OR; three grandchildren Aaron, Aidan and Gavin; his dog Max; brother of George (Pam) Salerno, James (Mary) Salerno, Marie (Eric) Pressley, Phillip (Lisa) Salerno, Robert (Wanda) Salerno, Vincent (Maureen) Salerno, Rosanne (Kim) Salerno and the late Nellie (Robert) Cimini; predeceased by first wife Suzanne (Galleciewz) Salerno; son-in-law of Millicent Dominguez of Niagara Falls; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Road & Fieldcrest Drive, Lockport. In lieu of flowers donations c/o First Niagara Bank to the Delaney Dominguez-Salerno Benefit Fund would be appreciated by the family.
