Obituary of Thomas Foltz

Thomas R. "Foo" "Kraut" Foltz passed away December 17, 2007 in the Absolut of Gasport Health Care Facility.� Born September 17, 1929 in Washburn, WI he was the son of Roger H. and Florence Bell Foltz.� Tom worked for about 50 years at various jobs most recently he retired from Diversified Manufacturing.� He was "famous" for his sauerkraut and horseradish, for which Tom received the prestigious Cabbage of the Year Award in 1997 for his nearly 100 tons of sauerkraut made by hand for over 50 years.� Tom was a member of the 4the Degree Assembly #754 and the Knights of Columbus Council #319.� He was predeceased by his wife Sue Ann "Susie" Shanley Foltz on February 18, 1997 whom he married on September 15, 1956 in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Lockport.

Tom was the brother of Roger H. (late Jannette) Foltz, Jr. of Ohio, Patricia (Albert) Gritzmacher of Lockport, Frances (Paul) Kane of Washington, DC, James B. (Patricia) Foltz, Sr. of Lockport and the late John Foltz.� He was the uncle of John and Tim Wick, Maureen Brewer and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law of Michael, Richard (Kay) Shanley.� He is also survived by his friends Francis Furlong, Kenny Connor and his best friend and companion "Wolf".

There will be no prior visitation.� A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� Memorials to Save-A-Pet, PO Box 114, Newfane, NY 14108 would be appreciated by the family.
