Ernest F. Winters, Jr. (also known as Ernie and Pete) born March 15, 1924 in Lockport.� On December 5, 2007 he went to spend Christmas in heaven and to be reunited with his beloved wife Geraldine A. (Ryan) of 53 years before her passing on January 1, 2004.� They were united in marriage on March 17, 1951.� Upon his arrival he was met at the heavenly gates by passed family members, his parents Ernest and Mary (Buri) Winters, grandparents Rudolph and Barbara (Loeffel)Buri and William and Frederika (Seeloff) Winters, siblings Ralph and Josephine (Converso)Winters and Florence "Pal" Newman, son-in-law Percy H. and Winifred (Bloom) Ryan and pet companion Jem. � Ernie was the a devoted and loving father and leaves behind three daughters Cathy (John) Tagg, Shirley (Kevin) Norris and Beverly (Michael) Seitz all of Lockport; "Pa" to his grandchildren Christopher (Siobhan) Norris, Thomas (Stephanie Herberger) Norris, Erin (Rick Lopez) Norris all of Lockport, Melanie (Santo Tomasine) Seitz of North Tonawanda, Julia (Cpl. William) Rowles, USMC of 29 Palms, CA; great grandfather of Creighton M. Norris and Landin A. Rowles; childhood and lifelong friend Ed (Barb) Pytko; brother-in-law of Betty (Gordon) Crane, Dorothy (Late Bob) Vigrass, Harold "Pat" (late Shirley) Ryan, Audrey (Wayne) Burgess, Winnie (Fay) Heschke, Mary (Whitney "JR") Caldwell, Charlotte (Francis "Pat") Patrick, Donnie (Judy) Ryan, Annie (Bob) Heschke, Florence (Herb) Kolbe and Dawn (late Raymond) Coyle; Ernie also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family. � Ernie served in the Army (1943-1946) earning the rank of T-5 Corporal worked.� He worked at the Upson Co. from 1942 retiring after 43 years on April 1, 1986 as a crane operator and truck driver for Domtar Co. (formerly Upson Co.).� For many years he served as union president of Local 1195, was a lifetime member of the VFW and former commander.� Member of the Dale Association.� He was also a member and former student of the Pomeroy School House and was well known by many area businesses for picking up and hauling scrap and other items. � Relatives and friends may call Sunday 3-8 PM at Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.� Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 Pm in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.� Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to the Dale Association, 33 Ontario Street, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family. � <h3>Visitation</h3> Visitation Times
