Obituary of Marjorie Haenle

Marjorie H. Haenle (Genewick) passed away peacefully and on her terms on Tuesday October 30, 2007 with her family by her side at Lockport Memorial Hospital.� Born March 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James "Jack" and Stella Genewick.� Marge married her high school sweetheart the late John "Jack" Haenle on October 25, 1958 and they enjoyed a lifetime of love and family together.

Marge worked for 28 years for Orleans Monument Co. and has been an active member of the Lockport community, including "Light Up Lockport", Discover Historic Lockport and The Walk of Fame.� She was a member of the Ladies Elks Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary; she also was a volunteer for the Red Cross for several years.

Marge was a breast cancer survivor and a strong supporter of the "Mother's Day Walk" since its inception.� She loved playing cards and traveling with her friends.� Marge's favorite place was the family cottage on the lake in Wilson and was happiest when she was there surrounded by her family and friends.

Marge leaves behind her three children John W. (Trisha) Haenle IV of Lockport, Kevin J. (Rhonda) Haenle of Gasport and Julie A. (John) Morse of Lockport.� Her beloved grandchildren Catherine, John V, Mallorie and Nina Haenle, Meaghan and Nicholas Morse.� Marjorie was the sister of James (Caroline) Genewick of S.C., Edward (Brenda) Genewick of Lakeview, NY and the late Virginia Brick.� Daughter in-law of Dorothy J. Haenle of Lockport; Sister-in-law of Michael (Vicki) Haenle, Mark (Dr. Margaret Libby) Haenle, Ellen (Jack) Kander and Donald Brick all of Lockport.� She is also survived by her lifelong friend Elaine (Charles) Sobieraski, aunt Betty Shaver, several nieces, nephews and many, many good friends.

Relatives and friends may call Friday 3-8 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where prayers will be offered Saturday morning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� Memorials to the Lockport Memorial Hospital, 521 East Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Mary's Room c/o American Cancer Society, 101 John J. Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228 or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
