Obituary of Vincent Townsend

Vincent E. Townsend passed away suddenly October 27, 2007 in Millard Fillmore Gates Circle in Buffalo.� Born February 12, 1943 in Syracuse he was the son of Rose Marie (Ryan) Townsend of Syracuse and the late James E. Townsend.� Vincent served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964.� He worked as a marketing representative for Selective Insurance Company in Buffalo retiring in 2003.� Vincent previously owned Shaw Townsend Insurance Company in Middleport.� He was the past officer of the Insurance Club of Buffalo and also CPCU Organization.� Vincent enjoyed being with his family especially his grandchildren, wood working, golfing, gardening, boating, working genealogy and the guitar.�

Vincent is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years whom he married on October 6, 1962, Betty Larkins Townsend of Lancaster; father of Lynn (Robert) Bragg of Lockport and the late Michael Townsend; grandfather of Megan and Kelsey Bragg; brother of Catherine Townsend of Syracuse; brother-in-law of Linda (Bob) Miller, Gay Marie (Leonard) MacDonald, Tom (Ann) Larkins and Gary (Mary) Larkins; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.� A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:30 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.� Inurnment will be in St. Adelbert's Cemetery.� Memorials to the Kaleida Health Foundation to benefit Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Stroke Center, 3 Gates Circle, Buffalo, NY 14209 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 would be appreciated by the family.
