Obituary of Richard Dodge

Richard J. "Dick" Dodge passed away suddenly December 8, 2008.� Born August 11, 1947 in Lockport he was the son of the late John F. and Olga (Foltz) Dodge.� Dick was a Lockport High School graduate class of 1965 and served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1969.� He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 as a Vietnamese Naval Advisor and was attached to the Vnagsaigon and River Patrol Group 51, while in this unit Dick patrolled the Mekong Delta and the Dong Nai River.� Dick received the Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/4 Clusters and the National Defense Medal.� He worked at Harrison Radiator Division GMC from October 1965 till his retirement in July of 1999.� Dick was a charter member of Lockport United Church of Christ, a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous, an active life member in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2535 in Lockport where he was a two time Post Commander.� Dick also served as an All-State Post Commander, National Aide-De-Camp, District 7 Agent Orange Chairman, District 7 Adjutant and served on the Board of Directors of the Lockport Overseas Veterans Club.

Dick is survived by his wife Ann (Wall) Dodge of Lockport whom he married September 18, 1971 in St. Peter's United Church of Christ.� He is also survived by his two sons Richard (Tammy) Dodge, II and Skip (Brigene) Dodge both of Lockport.� Dick is also survived by his loving grandchildren Elizabeth "Liddy", Richard III "Trey", Nolan and Kendyl.� He is the brother of Mark (Cindy) Dodge and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday evening 7-9 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.� A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in Lockport United Church of Christ, 98 East Avenue, Lockport.� Inurnment will be in Hunt Corners Cemetery at a later date.� Memorials to a charity of one's choice would appreciated by the family.� Please visit www.pruddenandkandt.com for online condolences.
