Donald F. Herberger passed away November 24, 2008 in Niagara Hospice House.� Born August 31, 1921 in Lockport he was the son of the late Albert and Cecelia (Thering) Herberger.� Donald graduated from Lockport High School and served in the US Armt during WW II in the South Pacific and New Guinea earning the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the WW II Victory Medal.� He owned Don Herberger Furniture Co., Lockport, then entered retail sales for Korff Furniture and Pies Furniture both in Lockport.� He also was the owner of Don Herberger Distributing Co. in Olcott of which he retired from.� Don was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo in Olcott, NY �where he belonged to the Holy Name Society and was a religious instructor, Don was also a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Lockport and the Knights of Columbus Council 319.� Don volunteered with Niagara Hospice, Meals-on-Wheels and Catholic Charities.� He enjoyed card playing, hunting, fishing, carpentry, reading, traveling, telling stories and writing.� � Don is survived by his wife Elizabeth Stanley-Herberger of Lockport and was predeceased by his wife M. Virginia DeNeau.� He is the father of John F. (Caroline) Herberger of Akron, NY, Thomas A. (Patricia) Herberger of East Amherst, Ann M. Robbins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, James D. (Maria) Herberger of Getzville, Patricia E. (David) Denny of Clarence Center, Michael J. (Linda) Herberger of Hamburg, Donna C. Herberger (Dr. Stephen D. Rycyna Jr., MD) of Williamsville, Virginia S. Herberger-Lumb (Thomas Lumb) of Stoutland, MO, Theresa J. (Todd) Layer of Orchard Park, late, Mary Rita Cislo and Mark E. Herberger.� Father of two foster children through Catholic Charities; step-father of Gail (David) Ward of Phoenix, AZ and John (Bernadette) Pilkey of Winter Haven, FL.� Grandfather of 47, great grandfather of 11 and great-great grandfather of 8.� Predeceased by his siblings Florence Stevenson, Marion Garlock, Ruth &amp;quot;Kate&amp;quot; Cutter Whitmore, Robert &amp;quot;Shim&amp;quot; Herberger and Dolores &amp;quot;Mike&amp;quot; Lawida;� brother-in-Law of Violet &amp;quot;Vee&amp;quot; Herberger and Bernard Lawida both of Lockport;� father-in-law Stephen Cislo of Clarence; also survived by several nieces and nephews. � Relatives and friends may call Friday 3-7 PM at Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayer will be offered Saturday at 11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.� Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery.� Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friday, November 28, 2008 from 3-7 PM <h3>Services</h3> Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:30 AM
