Esther (Chiappone) Lach Obituary

Esther Mae (Chiappone) Lach went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 23, 2010 after a brief illness. Born May 1, 1939 in Lockport, NY, Esther was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Baglia) Chiappone. Second youngest of four siblings, she was predeceased by her brother N. Frank (Mildred) Chiappone; she is survived by brother Leonard (Carol) Chiappone and sister Angela (Philip) Speer. Her beloved husband, Heinrich Lach, went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2006. Together, Esther and Heinrich created a loving home and family. They are survived by their children, Cynthia (Eric) Smith and Timothy Lach of Lockport, NY and Susan (Todd) Glassman of Akron, NY. Also, survived by six beautiful grandchildren, predeceased by one granddaughter, Chelsey Smith; and survived by several nieces and nephews.


Esther was a graduate of Lockport Senior High School, class of 1957. After graduation, she worked for White's Transportation. The majority of her life was dedicated to being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She provided volunteer services at Lockport Memorial Hospital, as well as support and company to residents at Briody Healthcare Facility in Lockport. Esther participated in the Dorcas Group at Lockport Christian Church; she blessed many through song in a vocal trio with her mother, Mary Chiappone, and cousin, Rhoda Harrington at the Lockport Christian Church and Buffalo Mission. For many years, Esther was an active and faithful member of Lockport Assembly of God Church where she joyfully played the piano and organ. She was a faithful servant of God throughout her life, leading by example and touching the lives of others with her gentle, loving and caring nature. Esther's interests included serving the Lord, learning and sharing God's Word, doting on her family, baking, and gardening.


Calling hours are on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Lockport Assembly of God Church, 200 Beattie Ave. with Reverend Ronald Korzeniowski officiating. Entombment will be in Acacia Park. Services

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Lockport Assembly of God Church, 200 Beattie Ave. with Reverend Ronald Korzeniowski officiating.


Interment

Entombment will be in Acacia Park.
