E. Conners Obituary

E. Raymond Conners passed away October 30, 2008 in Niagara Hospice House.� Born April 5, 1916 in Plattsburgh, NY he was the son of the late Andrew R. and Mary Ellen (Wilson) Conners.� Ray graduated from Albany Academy and worked for New York Telephone Company as a switchman for 40 years retiring in 1978.� In 1980 Ray moved to Florida and returned to the Western New York area in 2004.� He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.� Ray played guitar with various musical groups in the Lockport area and was best known for "The Ray Conners Trio" playing mostly at Vowinkles.� He enjoyed making wine, music and traveling by car.� Ray was predeceased by his wife Emily Anne (Iwaniec) Conners in 1999 whom he married November 25, 1937 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church in Albany .

Ray is survived by his children Patricia (the late James) Dewey, Michael (Susan) Conners and James (Pat Smith) Conners; grandfather of Michael, Catherine, Michelle, John, Shawn, Christopher, JoAnna, James, Janeen, Megan, the late David and Timothy; great grandfather of twelve; brother of the late Andrew Conners, Robert Conners and Mary Mariani; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation.� A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.� Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
