Obituary of Shirley Wilcox

Shirley A. Wilcox passed away October 18, 2008 at Lockport Memorial Hospital.� Born November 5, 1928 in Lockport she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Wendel) Carver.� Shirley worked for 35 years for New York Telephone Company as a service clerk retiring in 1985.� She was a member of the Lockport Senior Citizen Center, Road Runners and the Telephone Pioneers.� Shirley was predeceased by her husband Emmons Wilcox in 1967.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Patricia J. (Peter) Welsby of Youngtown.� She is also survived by her two granddaughters Adrienne and Gillian Welsby and also several nieces and nephews.� Shirley was predeceased by her two sisters Joanne Mullaney and Doris E. Neumann.

There will be no prior visitation.� A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 AM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.� Inunrment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� Memorials to Niagara Hospice or to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company would be appreciated by the family.
