Edward A. Gailor passed away October 21,2008 in Lockport Memorial Hospital. Born March 17,1915 in North Tonawanda he was the son of Edward H. and Kathryn Aspden Gailor. Edward was a 1933 graduate of Lockport High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He married Jean E. Morrill August 19,1939; she passed away September 3,2007. "Ed" retired in 1980 from Harrison Radiator, Division of GMC after 45 years as Manager of Purchasing. He was very active in civic and fraternal organizations serving on the Lockport Civil Service Commission 1942 to 1954 as Secretary and President, Boy Scouts of America from 1927 to present being awarded Eagle Scout in 1931, served on the Executive Committee Lewiston Trail Council, and presented the Silver Beaver Award in 1975 and Distinguished Citizen Award in 1981. He was also very active in the Red Jacket Lodge # 646 F&AM, Ames Chapter #88 Royal Arch Mason, Past High Priest, Ismailia Temple A.A.O.N.M. Shrine, Lockport Shrine Club, B.P.O. Elks # 41. He also was active in the Lockport Rotary Club, Past Vice President of the Lockport Area Chamber of Commerce, Trustee and Past President of the Glenwood Cemetery Association, the G-9 Management Club and vice-president, coach-manager with the Lockport Little League Baseball. He also was a member of the Lockport United Church of Christ, Board of Governors and Past President of the Lockport Town and Country Club and Board of Directors and Past President of the Tuscarora Club. In his free time he enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, photography, stamp and coin collecting and swimming.

Ed is survived by his children Terrie G. Gailor, Linda G. (Lee) Lewis and Edward M. (Anette) Gailor; grandfather of Craig G. (Susan) Lewis, Mark E. Lewis, Edward D. Gailor, Shawn T. Gailor; great grandfather of Chad T. Gailor, Andrew R. Gailor, Kenna Lee Lewis and Cassidy Ann Lewis.

Relatives and friends may call Friday 3 to 7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee, Lockport,NY where funeral services will be held Saturday morning October 25,2008 at 11:30. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army or to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
