Obituary of James Boyer

James F. Boyer passed away March 14, 2010 in Erie County Medical Center. Jim was born August 21, 1936 in Lockport, the son of Karl and Frances (nee Judd) Boyer. He owned and operated Boyer's Tavern for the past 30 years. Jim is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He was the past Commandant of the Navy Marine Club, life member of the V.F.W. Post 2535 and a member of the B. Leo Dolan Post 410 American Legion. He also was and avid motorcyclist and coin collector. In addition to his love of family and motorcycling he was an original 53 year member, "NOMAD", of the Road Vultures Motorcycle Club and a 30 year Life Member of A.B.A.T.E. Jim was predeceased by his wife Ruth Harris Boyer. He is the father of Linda L. (Robert) Petersen, Valery J. Roberts, James F. Boyer, Jr., Sheena M. Boyer, Lance C. Boyer and Ronald J. Boyer. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and was the brother of Patricia Boyer and the late Beverly J. Navarro and Carl Boyer.
Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 7 P.M. in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
