Obituary of Robert Lord

Robert Charles Lord passed away suddenly August 30, 2008 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.� Born July 2, 1946 in Liverpool, England he was the son of Charles and Gert (Austin) Lord.� Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Manchester University and postgraduate certificate in education from the University of Waterloo.� He started working at Niagara County Community College in 2003 where Robert played a major role in developing the college&amp;#39;s Geographic Information System certificate program, which was to help promote careers in geospatial science, remote sensing, image interpretation and global position system mapping.� Robert was also helping to coordinate the National GeoTech Center: Northeast at NCCC, which was to also help in promoting those careers involved with this program.� Before working at NCCC he also worked for the Peel Board of Education for 25 years in Canada and also at Buffalo State.� Robert enjoyed golfing and was an environmental activist. � Robert was the wonderful adoring husband of Lynda (Schmitt) Lord of Amherst; fantastic step-father to Joshua Parr of Amherst, Andrew (Yocota) Parr of Japan and Nathan Parr of Amherst; brother-in-law of Susan and William Schmitt; son-in-law of Helen Schmitt. � Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday at 10 AM to be celebrated in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Tonawanda Creek Road, Pendleton. <h3>Services</h3> Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10 AM
