Obituary of John Strefeler

John J. (Jim) Strefeler, 81 of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully at Niagara Hospice on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Born June 2, 1927 in Warren, PA, he was the son of John P. Strefeler and Mary (Buda) Strefeler. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Sivak) Strefeler. John was a member of St. Mary&amp;#39;s Church in Lockport, where he was very active in many church activities including Parish Council, Parish Mission, Eucharistic Ministry and lector at Sunday and weekday Masses. He was a Navy veteran; he served on the USS Roan from 1945 to 1949 with a title of FC3. � John is the father of five children, Barbara (Jeffrey) Bald of Lockport, James (Julie) Strefeler of Quakertown, PA, Patricia (Andrew) Tellers of Dayton, OH, Mark (Alison Eldridge) Strefeler of Switzerland, and Susan Maloni of Wilmington, NC, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, sister in law and brother in law, many nieces and nephews. � There will be no prior visitation. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10 AM in St. Mary&amp;#39;s Roman Catholic Church, 5 Saxton St, Lockport. Where a reception will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or St. Mary&amp;#39;s R.C.
