Robert J. "Sparky" Sparks passed away August 9, 2008.� Born in Lockport on May 6, 1936, he was the son of the late R. Carleton and Ethel Kugler Sparks.� Robert was a DeSales High School in 1954 and then served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957 and then again from 1961 to 1962.� He worked as a plumber for JW Criswell in Lockport, Plumbers Union Local 129 and for the Drain Doctor.� He was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church and the Knights of Columbus #319.� Robert was an devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, he enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending time with his family.� He is survived by his wife of 48 years Patricia Long Sparks.

Beside his wife, he is survived by his children Robert Sparks Jr. of Beacon, NY, Daniel (Marla) Sparks of Lockport, Christopher (Jennifer) Sparks of Westfield, MA. and Lisa (Scott) Gellerson of Lockport.� Grandfather of Kelsey, Jacob, Ashley, Patrick and Alexander Sparks, Sarah and Rebecca Rouse and Regan and Mackenzie Gellerson; brother of James F. (Lorraine) Sparks of Lockport, Marcia (Zenon) Zakrzewski of Bennington Center, NY, Linda (John) Brundage of Niagara Falls, NY and Carol (Brian) Greisser of Lockport.� Robert is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where prayers will be offered Thursday morning at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.� Interment will be in Huskey Cemetery.� In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Western New York Chapter, 2417 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda, NY 14150 would be appreciated by the family.
