Karen Elizabeth Flechsenhaar went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus on August 3, 2008.� Karen was the cherished wife of Thomas E. Flechsenhaar, whom she married March 9, 1962.� Karen and Tom were blessed with over 46 wonderful years together.

Born January 10, 1940, Karen was the precious daughter of the late Donald Francis and Elizabeth Sipson Urtel, and the much-loved niece of the late Thelma Sipson.� She was the loving and devoted mother of Wendy Sue (Michael) Andrews, Beth Ann (Keith) Krull and Amy Lynn New.� Grandy adored and loved spending time with her grandchildren Nicole Kelly and Michael Thomas Andrews, Katie Elizabeth, David Matthew and Emily Ann Krull and great grandson Jackson Thomas Andrews-Nye.� Karen is also loved and survived by her sister in-law Joan A. (late Leonard) Bower; brothers in-law Donald A. (Marge) and James E. Flechsenhaar; cousins David (Linda) and Paul (Chris) Sipson, her nieces, nephews and many dear, longtime friends.� She was dearly loved by Tom's parents, the late George E. and Arlene M. Flechsenhaar, and predeceased by George E. Flechsenhaar, Jr.

Karen attended Charlotte Cross, North Park and Lockport Senior High School, graduating in 1958.� She was employed at Montgomery Ward, M & T Bank, Tops Market and Niagara Migrant Ministries.� A 55 year active member of First Baptist Church, Karen served in many ministries including VBS, Sunday School, youth and senior programs. �She also served many years with the Girl Scouts.� Karen loved God and felt so blessed to live in America.� She had a very tender heart for those imprisoned or in need.� One of her many talents was to coordinate family gatherings, creating wonderful memories and traditions.� Karen made the most of life, enjoying swimming and time with her close friends, including the Jiffy Homemakers.
