Obituary of George Fura

George S. Fura passed away July 6, 2008 in Buffalo general Hospital.� Born April 20, 1920 in Lockport he was the son of the late Michael and Ursula (Cach) Fura.� George served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 during WW II as a Code Decipherer Clerk under the direct supervision of General George Patton.� He worked at Harrison radiator for 33 years in production.� While there, George started and retired on the same days as his wife.���� George was a member of St. Mary's RC Church, UAW and the Dale Association.� He enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing and gardening.� George was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Jennie Fura on May 9, 2007.

George is the brother of Ignatius "Buck" Fura of Lockport and the late Joseph (Mary) Fura, John Fura, William Fura, Nelly (Santo) Fruscione and Annie (George) White; brother-in-law to Helen Fura, Marjorie Fura, Mary Ferruzza, Josephine Scrio and the late Cecelia Sansone and Michael J. Ferruzza; also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 4-8 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.� A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 5 Saxton Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� Memorials to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
