John D. McDonough passed away Sunday June 29, 2008 at home.� Born August 24, 1925 in Lockport, he was the son of the late Linus J. and Edith Kenney McDonough.� He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga CV-14 in the South Pacific during WWII, and was discharged in June 1946 with the rank of Yeoman third class.� Upon returning home he attended Niagara University under the G.I. Bill graduating in 1954 with a B.B.A. and completed graduate work at Niagara University and Canisius College. John worked for the Royalton Hartland Central School as a teacher and Business Administrator. He retired from the Lockport City School District as Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance in 1988.� John was a Charter member of the Ale & Quail, served on the board of the Lockport Concert Association and the Tuscarora Club of Lockport, and was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Veterans Association of the USS Ticonderoga.

����� John is survived by his wife, Sheila Glassford McDonough, whom he married on October 29, 1949.� Father of Margaret (Donald) Wynes, Andrew (Leslie) McDonough, Anne (Shawn) Kilroy, Martha (William) Moran, Claire (Daniel Ciotoli) McDonough and Joan (David) Wolfe.� Grandfather of Nora Jane, Joseph, and John Wynes; John, Moira, Patrick, and Meghan McDonough; Brigid and Martin Kilroy; Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Mary Kate Moran; James, Charles, and Kevin Wolfe.� He was the brother of Mary McCarthy, Gerald (Beverly) McDonough, Anne (Dennis) Clancy, Thomas (Beverly) McDonough, and Edith (J. Michael) Moran and brother in-law Mary McDonough.� Predeceased by five brothers Robert, Linus, Lawrence, Donald and Paul McDonough.

A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday morning at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C.
